Reh-Fit Centre ratifies new contract

February 18, 2022 — UFCW 832 members working at the Reh-Fit Centre ratified a new three-year collective bargaining agreement.

“Between shutdowns and tight restrictions and a significant drop in membership, the pandemic has had a huge impact on our members at the Reh-Fit Centre,“ said Union Negotiator, Phil Kraychuk. “I’m happy to see things going in a positive direction with their contract so they can continue to support fellow Manitobans on their health journeys.”

The new contract includes an initial 1.5% wage increase, with retro pay going back to April 1, 2021 and future wage increases of 1.75% in year two and 2% in year three. Members will also see an increase in their vision coverage.

When it opened in 1979, the Reh-Fit Centre (Manitoba Cardiac Institute) was Canada’s first certified medical fitness facility. Our members there help adults learn the strategies to overcome life’s challenges and stay committed to a healthier, more active lifestyle. UFCW Local 832 represents roughly 35 members at the Reh-fit Centre working to keep the gym running and provide the highest quality fitness membership and services.
