February 25, 2022 – Last night, UFCW 832 members working at the Fairmont Winnipeg voted 100% in favour of extending their current contract for two years. Members will receive a 2.25% wage increase in the second year of their newly ratified contract.
“These workers have experienced significant hardships due to the pandemic,” says Blake Crothers, Union Negotiator. “As things slowly pick up with travel, we’re hoping to be in a much better position in two years’ time.”
The Fairmont Winnipeg is Winnipeg’s premier luxury hotel and UFCW 832 represents all staff, including those in the restaurant and lounge, with the exception of management and maintenance staff.
