October 12, 2023 — After rejecting their first two offers and voting in overwhelming favour of strike action, UFCW 832’s 22 foodservice members at Compass Group Canada voted in favour of a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
“This round of bargaining was difficult but our committee member Marmie stayed dedicated to getting her colleagues a great new deal,” says Phil Kraychuk, union negotiator.
Highlights from the three-year agreement include:
- Retroactive pay
- 15.25% in wages over the term of the agreement with 10.5% or more in the first year
- Increases to their meal allowance, sick time and an added $1 to night premiums
- New shoe allowance
- The ability to keep their tips
