On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, UFCW Local 832 members at Chalet Malouin ratified a three-year collective bargaining agreement.
“The bargaining committee worked hard to deliver an agreement with significant improvements for their fellow coworkers,” says Phil Kraychuk, Union Negotiator.
Some highlights from the new deal include:
- 4.5% increase on wages including retro pay
- Compressed wage scale which results in large increases to employees already on the scale
- Increased shoe allowance, RRSP contributions and health spending
- Extra week of vacation after 20 years of service
Chalet Malouin is a seniors’ retirement home located in St. Malo, Manitoba. UFCW 832 members work in the kitchen preparing meals and provide support for the residents.
