Prairie Chef votes YES

UFCW 832 members at Prairie Chef voted yes to ratify a new, almost three-year agreement with their new employer. 

“This was our first time negotiating with the new owners of Prairie Chef and it was an excellent collaboration, we made sure that workers are at the forefront of changing business conditions and the business is able to continue to grow,” says Phil Kraychuk, union negotiator.  

The two year, 11 month CBA includes: 

  • A new sanitation premium 
  • Vacation payout if requested
  • Improvements to types family members named in bereavement leave
  • Increased boot allowance, sick time, health spending account and RRSP matching
  • Wage increases of $1.80 – $2.15 over the life of the contract. 

Our members at Prairie Chef product prepare poultry products for distribution to retail and fine dining establishments.
