Celebrations Dinner Theatre Workers Unanimously Reject Wage Offer and Give Strike Notice

UFCW 832 members working at Celebrations Dinner Theatre have voted unanimously to strike, at a meeting where nearly all members were in attendance. UFCW 832 has given notice to the employer that a strike will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

The union members at Celebrations have been without a contract for three years. The workers understood that the pandemic took a hard toll on the company and agreed to hold off on bargaining until the company was able to recover. Now, the company is fully operational again and the members are saying that it is busier than ever. After returning to the bargaining table, the employer is failing to offer anything above minimum wage.

“This is a group that understood what their employer faced during the pandemic, and they waited patiently for the company to recover. Now that the company is busy again, it needs to step up and show its workers some respect and appreciation for their efforts,” says Jeff Traeger, President of UFCW Local 832.

Celebrations Dinner Theatre offers guests a parodied musical performance while they dine. UFCW Local 832 represents over 30 workers there who are in the box office selling tickets and managing group bookings, as well as ad cast members for the shows who act in character as they serve their guests dinner.
