Bargaining Continues at FASD Life’s Journey
The union negotiating committee, comprised of Jason Appasamy, James Arnold, Shawn McCartney, Michelle Friesen and union negotiator Martin Trudel, met with the employer on March 9 and 20. During these two days, the parties did address most of the non-monetary matters.
The committees have been scheduled May 5 and 17 to continue bargaining and the union committee is hoping to complete the remaining non-monetary matters before beginning to address the monetary ones.
More Dates Set for FASD Bargaining
During the last bargaining session on February 3, 9 and 10, the union and the company did address some of the non-monetary items. The parties have scheduled more dates and will continue negotiations on March 9, with a further date set for March 20.
Following the completion of the March 20 meeting, union negotiator Martin Trudel with provide the members with an update as to the status of their negotiations.
FASD Life’s Journey Negotiations Commencing in February
The union negotiating committee, comprising of head negotiator Martin Trudel, Jason Appasamy, James Arnold and Shawn McCartney, will meet with the company on February 3 to exchange proposals and commence bargaining. The parties will continue talks on February 9 and 10 in an effort to reach a new tentative collective agreement for the members working at FASD.
UFCW will update the membership after the February 10 meeting as to the state of the negotiations process.
FASD Negotiations Progressing
Debra Malmquist, legal counselor and union negotiator, said she is pleased with the positive progress the bargaining committees have made in negotiations towards the renewal of the FASD Life’s Journey (office workers) collective agreement.
The parties have further dates scheduled for January 26 and 28, and February 24 and 26, as well as March 9 and 11. During these meetings, the negotiating committees will continue to bargain with intentions of reaching a fair agreement.
Talks at FASD Resume
Talks at FASD Life’s Journey resume this week on August 18 with additional bargaining dates set for September 2 and 3.
Union negotiator Martin Trudel, assisted by James Arnold, Jason Appasamy and Shawn McCartney, will address the remaining non-monetaryproposals and focus on the monetary ones in an effort to reach a new deal with the employer.
