Strike ends at Aryzta

May 11, 2018

UFCW Local 832 members will return to work on Monday,  May 14. The members ratified a new contract by 75% with Aryzta, ending the two-week strike.

"Our members stood up for themselves to gain a better livelihood," said Jeff Traeger, President of UFCW Local 832. "I'd like to personally thank all those who came out to show their support on the picket line."

The new agreement will give the members 1.8% retro pay, paid lunches and an additional increases of 3.5% in wages over the remaining 3.5 years of the contract.

On April 29, the members turned down the company's final offer after taking issue with the offered shift durations and proposed wage increases.

UFCW Local 832 represents over 200 workers at Aryzta who mass-produce baked goods for sale to their customers, which consist of a mix of large retail, convenience, and independent retail.
