Coca-Cola Winnipeg Members Quench New Agreement

May 8, 2018

The Coca-Cola UFCW members working at the Winnipeg plant voted yes, by 86 per cent, to accept their new collective agreement. Some of the highlights of the newly ratified contract include:

  • A total of a 5.5 per cent wage increase for all classifications during the four years
  • A one-time $200 lump sum payment for all full-time employees
  • An additional $1 more wage adjustment for all drivers and service technicians
  • A 20 per cent increase to short-term disability benefits
  • Footwear allowance increase
  • Pension plan benefit increase
  • Meal allowance change so the full per diem money is paid up front and receipts will no longer need to be provided.

“The negotiating committee unanimously recommended acceptance of this new agreement and we are glad with the support we received from the members,” said lead union negotiator Martin Trudel. “We were also able to achieve lots of good cleanup language changes.”

UFCW members working at the Coke distribution plant in Winnipeg work in a variety of duties such as production, maintenance, mechanics, delivery and set up.
