Carmen Co-op Proposes Concessions
The union and the company met on March 22 and 23 begin negotiations. The parties had discussions and were able to agree on some of the non-monetary items.
Unfortunately, the Co-op has proposed several concessions that could take away or reduce some of the benefits and compensations that the members currently have including such things as deleting some of the premiums—night shopping, night shift, and Sunday. The union bargaining committee has no intentions of agreeing to these concessions.
Talks between the parties will continue on May 4 and 5 and lead union negotiator Sonia Taylor will provide a further update after that session of bargaining.
