Lucerne Milk members ratify new three-year agreement.

May 20, 2008
On Monday May 19 the members at Lucerne Milk ratified a new three-year agreement by 71% that will see strong improvements over the life of the agreement. Members will receive wage increases of 40 cents in each year of the agreement. Members will also see 21 cents an hour put into the Canadian Commercial Workers Industry Pension Plan stabilization fund. This fund is being set aside only for the members at Lucerne Milk to ensure their pension benefits do not decrease. The negotiation committee was successful in moving the bargaining unit into the Safeway Health and Welfare plan. Lucerne Milk members will now be eligible for further benefits under the new plan. This transition should be completed by the end of the year.
