Workers at Wings of Power Ratify New Collective Agreement

Tuesday, May 26, 2020 – UFCW 832 members working at Wings of Power ratified a new one-year Collective Agreement by mail-in ballot.

This new agreement brings 1.5% in wages, cleans up language and addresses a number of issues members were having regarding using their personal vehicles for work.

“This membership provides vital services in a small rural Manitoba setting that helps other members of the community prosper,” said Phil Kraychuk, Union Negotiator. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, these members are doing incredible work.”

This CBA was bargaining entirely through remote-meetings and using online tools to ensure we followed public health advice during COVID-19. All communication with the membership was done via mail, email and telephone town halls.

Wings of Power is a grassroots community and family-based resource centre, with a parent-child focus. UFCW 832 members work in day programs and group homes located in Pine Falls, Manitoba. They assist supported individuals with day-to-day living at the group homes and provide programing activities in the day program.
