Members at Western Glove Ratify New Two Year Agreement

Last night, UFCW 832 members at Western Glove ratified their new two-year agreement through a vote inside the workplace.

While COVID has put a strain on certain aspects of the business, and it brought the bargaining committee into some difficult discussions with the employer. These discussions resulted in the members agreeing to take a zero in the first year of the agreement. But they leveraged that zero to gain a 3% wage increase in the second year.

Other items agreed to were an increase in sick time and some language cleanup.

“Negotiations were difficult for this group of members that work hard supplying Silver jeans across the globe,” said Phil Kraychuk, Union Negotiator. “COVID-19 has impacted many employers, but these difficult conversations brought us to some positive outcomes. “
