Members at Visions of Independence Ratify New Collective Agreement

On November 16, 2020, UFCW 832 members at Visions of Independence have ratified their new collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The new CBA was ratified by mail-in ballot through a series of town hall meetings.

“I’m proud of the new agreement that our bargaining team was able to reach with the employer,” said Phil Kraychuk, Union Negotiator. “This pandemic has proven to be difficult in many ways, and reaching a fair agreement is a huge accomplishment.”

The new agreement brings:

  • Language cleanup, including clarifying the issue of weather closure.
  • The removal of a $500 Cap on RRSP
  • Members can now optional bank their stat time when they work a stat day
  • More Bereavement leave inclusions

UFCW 832 members work in the day programs and group homes provided by Visions of Independence, providing support to the individuals in their care. Visions of Independence has locations in Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie.
