Members from ACL Virden ratify a new, two-year deal

On July 5, 2022, UFCW Local 832 members at the Association for Community Living (ACL) in Virden voted yes on a new two-year collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

The new CBA has language for a wage re-opener, which we will be doing in the near future once the employer is given clear direction on new provincial funding. Other details of the contract include:

  • Milestone bonuses ranging from $500 to $1000 with retro pay for those that have already passed a milestone.
  • New health and wellness credit at $100 per year.

“These members work so hard and really care about the people they support,” says Phil Kraychuk, union negotiator. “It’s so important in this line of work, we ensure that workers get the recognition and supports they need.”

Association for Community Living, Virden Branch provides housing and support for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Our members work support individuals with their day-to-day needs such as bathing, eating, recreation and appointments.
