UFCW 832’s Women & Gender Equity (WGE) Committee has a Galentine’s event coming up on Thursday, February 9 and you’re invited!
Female members: join us for a fun evening where you can learn to knit! Knitting is a skill you can use to keep your family, friends and community warm during these cold days and nights. During this event, you will learn to cast on, knit a few rows, and cast off, which can be the basis for a scarf if you’re adventurous!
The WGE Committee is hosting this evening in support of Ikwe-Widdjiitiwin. Ikwe is a crisis shelter for Indigenous women and their children that works to end family violence and provide hope, change and empowerment for the future. UFCW 832 represents the workers at Ikwe and it is our community organization of choice for the WGE committee this year.
All knitting supplies will be provided as well as light snacks and drinks.
