Let’s get together on Equal Pay Day to connect and learn! Brought to you by UFCW 832’s Women & Gender Equity Committee.
This event is free on a first come, first serve basis for UFCW Local 832 members. Pre-registration is required and capacity is limited.
5:00 pm: Doors open
5:30 pm: Dinner & Discussion – Equal Pay Day
We’ll be joined by political leaders from our community to discuss their work as it relates to closing the gender pay gap. Equal Pay Day is the day marking the extra days the average woman needs to work to catch up to the salary of the average male in one calendar year. The gender wage gap is the reality for working women across the country. This gap disproportionately affects low income, racialized and Indigenous women. It’s time to make sure that women receive equal pay for equal work!
6:30 pm: Conquering Your Stress
UFCW 832 member Maxine Pich (M.Msc) works as an outreach community support worker at Life’s Journey. She also has her Masters in Metaphysical Counseling and is a Stress Management Specialist. She’s going to walk us through five simple steps that can take us from overwhelmed to a mind and soul at peace.
7:30 pm: Group photo and wrap-up
Please wear red! We’ll take a group photo to wrap up the event.
