The UFCW Women’s Network partners with Love Over Addiction, an online recovery c
ommunity for women who love someone that suffers from addiction. The UFCW Canada National Council Women & Gender Equity Committee is endorsing this important initiative.
According to Statistics Canada, one in three Canadians have substance abuse disorders, and about half of all men in substance abuse treatment have a history of physically harming their partners. As a result, many women including UFCW women members are suffering in silence. We want to provide them with a helpful resource at a subsidized, affordable price.
Love Over Addiction offers a confidential, six-week online course that provides women with practical solutions for peace, joy, and confidence from the privacy and comfort of their own home with no childcare needed. UFCW Canada women members enrolled in the program will also gain access to the Love Over Addiction confidential Facebook group. The group is a supportive and confidential network to seek encouragement and to support others while completing the program.
The everyday price for Love Over Addiction is $320, but to help defray the cost, the UFCW Women’s Network has negotiated a partnership subsidy that reduces the fee for this program to just $20 CA for UFCW members.
