Geoff Bergen was hired on April 4, 2016, as full-time union representative with UFCW Local 832. Geoff’s first association with Local 832 began in 2005, as a union member working at Extra Foods. During his time at Extra Foods, Geoff was a dedicated shop steward as well as health and safety co-chair. Geoff holds an advanced degree in political studies from the University of Manitoba, where he also took numerous classes in the labour studies program. Prior to starting work with UFCW, Geoff worked at the Safe Workers of Tomorrow providing safety presentations to high school students all over the province.
