On Wednesday, March 23, UFCW 832 members working at Winnserv in Winnipeg ratified their new three-year collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

The new CBA brings in:

  • Improvements to sick time, including an increase to the sick-time bank and removing the cap on sick-time usage for family leave.
  • A cell-phone premium
  • New, clear language on overseas bereavement was brought in to help any New Canadians working at Winnserv
  • A commitment to discuss benefits improvements
  • A lump-sum payment and increases to long-service premiums.

“Our Bargaining Committee did really well with this deal,” said Phil Kraychuk. “I hope this is a sign of what we can expect across the Assisted Living territory.”
