UFCW Local 832 Scholarships
UFCW Local 832 scholarships are available from February 1 to May 31 annually.
UFCW 832 awards more than $30,000 in scholarships each year to members whose workplaces contribute to the Education Training and Trust Fund. To see which employers are contributors please click here.
Applications are available from February to May each year.
Bursaries are available for ETTF members
Bursaries are granted to members in the Education and Training Trust Fund (ETTF) who wish to update their skills in an area relevant to their work. Members must provide a receipt and proof of course completion from a recognized learning institution and will be reimbursed according to eligibility.
Members are only eligible to receive a bursary once in their lifetime.
UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship Program
Each year UFCW Canada offers 18 UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarships worth $1,000 each to active members and their family members for post-secondary study to honour three past leaders of our union: William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Roméo Mathieu. The application deadline is September 30.

$8,000 UFCW International Scholarship
The eligibility rules and application are available online at UFCW International Scholarship.
UFCW International annually offers a scholarship of up to $8,000 to one UFCW Canada member and their unmarried children or dependents. Scholarship recipients will receive an annual payment of $2,000 for each year they are enrolled in an accredited college or university as a non-probationary student for up to four years.
Manitoba Federation of Labour Scholarship
UFCW Local 832 members are encouraged to apply for The Al Cerilli Manitoba Federation of Labour Scholarship, a $500 award presented annually by the MFL Young Members Committee to a member of an MFL affiliated union enrolled in a continuing education or post-secondary program.
In selecting each year’s recipient, the MFL Young Members Committee looks for the applicant demonstrating the most significant record of activism in the labour movement and a commitment to continuing labour activism into the future.
The scholarship is named in honour of Al Cerilli, a long-time activist in the Manitoba labour movement.
