Epic de St. Malo Residential Services Members Have New Contract

UFCW Local 832 members working at Epic de St. Malo—Residential Services voted in favour of a new two-year collective agreement.

Union negotiator Martin Trudel stated, “The bargaining committee unanimously recommend acceptance of this new two-year deal and as you can see by the strong acceptance, the membership at St. Malo is solid. It’s a good short-term agreement, with no concessions.”


EPIC de St. Malo—Residential Services Negotiations Scheduled for March 14

March 1, 2018

Bargaining talks scheduled for March 14. During this session, proposals regarding contract language, benefits and all forms of financial compensation will be presented to the employer in order to make improvements to the collective agreement for the members at EPIC Residential Services.

Following these talks, union negotiator Martin Trudel will provide the members with an update on the state of these negotiations. The other union committee members include Carol Linford and Bernadette Philippot.


Union Preparing for Negotiations

UFCW Local 832 represents approximately 30 members at the EPIC de St. Malo/SMILE of St. Malo‑Residential Program whose collective agreement is about to expire.

Part of the preparation process is to obtain ideas from the membership as to what improvements and/or changes they would look to see negotiated into the new contract.


New 2-Year Deal at Epic de St. Malo (Day Program)

March 7, 2017

The bargaining committees for Epic de St. Malo (Day Program) reached a tentative deal on a new two-year agreement. UFCW has scheduled a ratification vote for the members working at Epic for Monday, March 27, at 4:00 p.m.

At that time the union committee, lead by negotiator Martin Trudel and assisted by members Danyka Choquette and Colette Hebert, will present the new deal to the members. The members will then have the opportunity to vote on whether or not to accept or reject the new collective agreement.


Bargaining Dates Set for Epic de St. Malo

January 10, 2017

The negotiating committees for Epic de St. Malo (Day Program) have scheduled dates for March 1 and 2 to begin bargaining. ‎During this first round of bargaining, proposals regarding contract language, benefits and wage increases will be presented to the employer in order to make improvements to the existing collective agreement.

Following the completion of the above noted round of bargaining, union negotiator Martin Trudel will provide members from Epic de St. Malo with an update on their negotiations.


Taking the First Step On the Way to Negotiations

October 31, 2016

The existing collective agreement for Local 832 union members working at Epic de St. Malo (Day program) expires on March 31, 2017. The union has already begun to prepare for negotiations and a first step in the preparation process is to obtain ideas from the membership as to what improvements they would like to see in their new contract.

As such, the union is hosting a proposal meeting on November 28 so that the members can bring their ideas forward. It is important for the members to make their voices heard.


Tentative Deal Reached at Epic de St. Malo (Residential Program)

June 9, 2016

The bargaining committee, comprised of negotiator Martin Trudel, Carol Linford, and Bernadette Philippot, is pleased to inform that a tentative deal has been reached with Epic de St. Malo/SMILE of St. Malo (Residential Program) on the renewal of the collective agreement.

As such, the union has scheduled a ratification vote of Wednesday, June 22, at 1 p.m. At the meeting, the union will provide a summary of negotiations and the details of the settlement prior to the members voting.


Bargaining to Begin at Epic de St. Malo – Residential Services

May 13, 2016

The negotiating committees for Epic de St. Malo – Residential Services have scheduled June 2 and 3 for bargaining. The union will inform the members of any additional dates, if needed, as well as provide an update on the state of the negotiations following the June 2 and 3 sessions.


Union Preps For Epic de St. Malo Negotiations

The existing collective agreement for members working at Epic de St. Malo/SMILE of St. Malo (Residential Program) expires on March 31. The union has already begun to prepare for negotiations to obtain a new agreement. Part of the preparation process is to obtain ideas about what improvements should be negotiated into the new contract.

As such, a proposal meeting to gather ideas from the members at Epic de St. Malo is scheduled for Friday, March 18, at 1 p.m.

Union negotiator Martin Trudel will spearhead these negotiations.

The union has begun to prepare for bargaining to obtain a new agreement for the members working the Residential and Day programs at Epic de St. Malo. Part of theses preparations is to get ideas from the employees on what improvements/changes they would like to see negotiated into the new agreement.
