CDC Members Ratify a New Agreement

On June 19, 2018, UFCW Local 832 union members working at the Carberry Distribution Centre unanimously voted “yes” to accept a new four-year collective agreement.

During the life of the contract, the employees’ wages will increase by eight per cent. The new agreement also includes an increase to the freezer premium as well as to the amount of banked time.

“It’s a good agreement,” stated lead union negotiator Martin Trudel. “We were able to negotiate some necessary cleanup language and more importantly we gave no concessions.”

Carberry Distribution Centre (CDC) Negotiations Set for May 29

The union bargaining committee comprised of head negotiator Martin Trudel, Derek Alcock and Kelly Rankmore, will meet with employer on May 29 and 30.

During this first set of bargaining, the union will present the list of proposals regarding improved contract language, benefits and wage increases that they would like see negotiated into the new collective agreement for the members working at CDC.

Negotiator Trudel will provide an update on the status of the negotiations after the May 30 meeting.

Ratification Vote Scheduled for CDC Members

June 18, 2015

The bargaining committees negotiating a new collective agreement for the union members working at Carberry Distribution Centre (CDC) have reached a tentative deal. As such, the union has scheduled ratification meetings for July 2.

At the meeting, the Local’s bargaining committee—led by negotiator Martin Trudel, Kelly Rankmore and Josh Anderson—will discuss the details of the settlement with the membership prior to a vote taking place.

Talks to Begin in June at CDC

Negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement for the members at Carberry Distribution Centre (CDC) are set to begin on June 3. At the first meeting, the union negotiating committee—negotiator Martin Trudel, Kelly Rankmore and Josh Anderson—will exchange proposals with the company. The list of union proposals contain improvements to contract language, benefits and wages.

Union Holds Proposals Meeting for Carberry Members

In October, the union held a proposals meeting for the members from the Carberry Distribution Centre (CDC). The Local’s negotiating committee comprised of Kelly Rankmore, Josh Anderson and Martin Trudel are meeting on January 12, 2015 in order to draft the official proposals that it will be presenting to the employer.

Union negotiator Martin Trudel said, “We received a lot of great ideas from the members at the proposals meeting, which the committee will be discussing at the table.”
