Arctic Co-op Members Approve New Six-Year Agreement

On November 8, UFCW Local 832 members working at Arctic Co-op voted in favour a new six-year agreement.

During the life of the agreement workers’ wages will increase by 13.5 per cent. In addition to the 13.5 per cent wage increases, hourly employees also received a 25¢ per hour pay hike. These increases were retroactive to July 1, 2017. At date of ratification, union members also received a $1,000 lump sum payment.

“The union bargaining committee unanimously recommended acceptance of this agreement,” said lead union negotiator Sonia Taylor.

Conciliation Officer to assist with Arctic Co-operatives Negotiations

March 4, 2013 to March 21, 2013

Dates to continue negotiations between UFCW Local 832 and Arctic Co-op are set for April 9, 10, and 11. These will take place at the offices of the Department of Labour with the assistance of a conciliation officer. The conciliation officer cannot compel either side to agree to a particular proposal, but will try to bring the parties closer together.
