New 3-year Deal for Aramark Members

UFCW Local 832 members at Aramark Refreshments voted 100 per cent in favour of a new three-year contract.

The deal contains a 2.5 per cent wage increase in each of the agreement, with the first increase retroactive to October 1, 2016. As well, it contains monetary hikes in the footwear allowance, dental contributions, and RRSP employer contributions.

The collective agreement also includes wording for payout for any unused vacation and some language cleanup.


Tentative Deal Reached at Aramark Refreshment

April 12, 2017

The union and the company have reached a tentative deal.  As such, the union has scheduled a ratification vote for the members working at Aramark Refreshment for May 9.

Union negotiator Debra Malquist stated, “The committee is recommending acceptance of this new deal. The agreement provides for reasonable improvements to the existing terms and conditions of employment.”


Negotiations Continue at Aramark

March 7, 2017

The negotiating committees for Aramark Refreshment Services met on February 17, however, were unable to come to an agreement. The parties will continue bargaining on March 9 and 10.

Following these meetings, the union will provided a further update.


Aramark Negotiations Continue in February

January 9, 2017

The union and the company met in December 2016 to begin negotiations towards a new tentative agreement for the members working at Aramark Refreshment Services. The parties have scheduled further meetings for February 16 and 17, 2017.

Following these talks the union will provide a further update.


Union Preparing for Aramark Refreshment Negotiations

August 23, 2016

The current collective agreement for the members at Aramark Refreshment expires on September 30. The Local has already begun to prepare for upcoming bargaining with the company towards a new contract. Part of the preparation process is to obtain ideas about what improvements the members would like to see negotiated into their new collective agreement.


Tentative Deal Reached at Aramark NPF 17th Wing

March 31, 2015

Local 832 has scheduled a ratification meeting for the member working at Aramark NDF 17th Wing for April 20 at 4 p.m. at the union office.
At the meeting a summary of negotiations and the details of the settlement, which is being recommended by the union bargaining committee, will be reviewed with the members prior to a vote.

The union bargaining committee met for a couple of days earlier this week and we had interesting discussions with your employer. After a great deal of discussion, the union was able to reach a tentative agreement on changes to the current contract that the union will be recommending. Now the tedious but necessary work begins, to craft the legal documents that will make up the tentative agreement.

Your negotiating committee has met with the employer and exchanged proposals. After a great deal of discussion, a really long day and many exchanges of paper the union and the company arrived at a tentative collective agreement late last night. NEXT STEP Now the tedious but necessary work begins, to craft the legal documents that will make up the tentative agreement.

Negotiations update for Aramark Refreshments

Your negotiating committee has met with the employer and exchanged proposals. After a great deal of discussion, we were able to resolve the non-monetary items. The tone of bargaining is respectful and there have been great discussions about the proposals to date. The next step is to resolve the monetary issues. The discussion right now is focused on the topic of pensions, which will impact on the other monetary proposals we have presented to the employer. Pensions can be a complicated topic and require a great deal of information and care before any decisions are made.

Tentative Agreement reached at ARAMARK 1 CAD/NPF

Ratification date set for June 17. Your bargaining committee met for a couple of days earlier this month and we had interesting discussions with your employer. We were, after a great deal of discussion, able to reach a tentative agreement on changes to your contract that we will be recommending. In order for the new wages and working conditions we have negotiated to take effect, you have to vote on the tentative deal. We have set a time to have the vote. We hope you will all be working that day or will attend to place your ballot.
