Negotiations update for Versa Cold distribution

May 17, 2012
The union negotiating committee consisting of  UFCW Local 832 member, Colin Trapp and Local 832 negotiator, Heather Dezan met with your employer on May 17 to begin negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement at Versa Cold distribution.Throughout the course of today’s talks we have resolved the majority of non-monetary items.

Agreement reached for VersaCold Dawson members

The union is  pleased to advise that a tentative agreement has been reached with your employer on the renewal of your collective agreement. All outstanding issues were resolved between the parties in negotiations that took place during the month of March and early April.

Negotiations continue at VersaCold Dawson

March 29, 2012
Yesterday, your negotiations committee met to review the company’s counter position received on March 22, 2012. The company’s offer was improved as compared to previous offers and as a result, your committee will be tabling a counter position today. Your committee is hopeful that this progress will continue and that the parties will be able to reach a timely resolution to these negotiations. Please continue to watch your mail for any information about upcoming meetings and next steps.

Negotiations update at VersaCold Jarvis

As previously communicated to you, the union and your employer have started the cycle of Versacold bargaining with Versacold Dawson. The intention is to turn our attention to your contract once this is completed. Your negotiations committee consisting of Frank Halischak, Terry Franzmann and myself will head up negotiations with your employer at that time. Unfortunately, negotiations with Versacold Dawson have been moving slowly.

Negotiations on-going at VersaCold Dawson

First off, thank you to the many members who took time out of their busy schedules to meet with your negotiating committee on February 9. Your union negotiating committee really appreciates your attention to, and engagement in the negotiation process. Since then, your committee has continued to negotiate with your employer. The company advised us immediately following the most recent vote that they were willing to continue talks. We sent them a position soon after and they replied to us last Thursday. Your committee was not satisfied with their response.

Negotiation update for Versacold Dawson members

November 16, 2011

The union negotiating committee for Versacold Dawson members met with the employer on November 14, 2011 in conciliation meetings. During these meetings, progress continued toward reaching a collective agreement with the employer. As a result of the progress achieved, the parties are going to continue talks in an effort to reach a collective agreement for the Versacold Dawson members.

Versacold Dawson Negotiations Update

November 2, 2011
The union negotiations committee for the Versacold Dawson facility met with your employer on October 28, 2011 in conciliation meetings. A conciliation officer has been appointed by the Province of Manitoba to try to assist the parties in reaching an agreement. During these meetings, a very small number of items were resolved and talks continued on critical items to the membership including wages and benefits. The parties will meet again in conciliation on November 14, 2011.

Versa Cold Jarvis negotiations update

Your negotiations committee consisting of Frank Halischak, Terry Franzmann and UFCW Local 832 negotiator Heather Dezan met with your employer on June 1, 2011 to exchange proposals. During this meeting all of your proposals were presented to the employer. The employer also provided us with their proposals. The employer’s opening proposal package included some concessionary items which are of concern to your negotiations committee. At the request of the employer, we have set additional negotiations dates to address the Versacold Dawson contract.
