Rolling Dale Members Vote in favour of Strike Action

October 24, 2019 - UFCW members at Rolling Dale Enterprises Inc. in Rivers MB voted 94% in favour of giving the Bargaining Committee a Strike Mandate.

The current agreement ended on August 31, and the current agreement is in effect until a new contract can be ratified.

The UFCW 832 bargaining committee will be returning to the table with the employer as soon as possible to work out a deal.


Members at Rolling Dale say yes to a Two-Year Deal

UFCW members at Rolling Dale voted in favour of a new two-year collective agreement.

Union negotiator Martin Trudel said, “Because of uncertainties the union members at Rolling Dale are facing, due to the current government and Bill 28, as well as the fact that Family Services did not increase the agency’s funding, we felt the short-term deal was our best option.”

The bargaining committee was able to obtain a slight increase to wages. The new contract contains revamped language to the entire on-call and work location process, which was key to the members at Rolling Dale.


Rolling Dale Negotiations Continue October 26

The bargaining committees for Rolling Dale Enterprises will continue negotiations on October 26. The only issues still on the table are the monetary proposals. The union will provide the members at Rolling Dale with an update after the October 26 meeting.


Strike vote set for members at Rolling Dale Enterprises

The union negotiating committee for Rolling Dale Enterprises have had three negotiating meetings with another two set for later in the month but progress is slow and the employer has put concessions on the table. The negotiating committee has tried to problem solve.
