Reh-Fit Negotiations Moving Along
The union negotiating committee, comprised of Cindy Armstrong, Devon Pekrul and lead negotiator Martin Trudel, met with the employer on March 23, 29, 30 and 31. This first round of negotiations was extremely productive and the parties were able to settle all non-monetary items.
Future bargaining dates have been scheduled for May 10 and 11 and at that time the committees we will begin to address the monetary items, including wages. Following the completion of these talks, the union will provide the members at Reh-Fit with an update on the status of their negotiations.
Reh-Fit Collective Agreement Expires March 31, 2017
UFCW Local 832 has scheduled proposals meetings for February 7 and 12 for its members working at the Reh-Fit Centre. The existing collective agreement at the Reh-Fit expires on March 31, 2017; however, the union has already begun to prepare for the bargaining of a new agreement.
At the meetings, union negotiator Martin Trudel will obtain ideas from the members on what improvements and/or changes they would like to see in their new contract. Negotiator Trudel will also keep the members updated as the negotiations process moves along.
