New Deals For Office and Production at McKenzie Seeds
UFCW Local 832 members working at McKenzie Seeds in the office and in production voted “YES” for a new four-year collective agreement.
The OFFICE workers ratified their new deal by 100 per cent. During the life of this agreement, the office workers will see their wages increase by eight per cent. Also, their dental contributions increased by 2¢ an hour more.
The PRODUCTION workers ratified their new collective agreement by 83 per cent. The production workers will see their wages increase by 8.5 per cent over the four years.
New Deal Reached at McKenzie Seeds
UFCW and McKenzie Seeds reached a tentative deal on a new 3-year collective agreement. This is the first agreement that encompasses both the production and office workers at the plant in Brandon.
The Local has set ratification votes for September 8. At the meeting, the union negotiating committee will provide the details of the settlement prior to the vote.
Union Sets Proposal Meetings for McKenzie Seeds Members
With the collective bargaining agreements for McKenzie Seeds plant and office members expiring on April 7, the union has begun its preparations for the negotiations processes.
Phil Kraychuk, union negotiator for UFCW Local 832, will head up the bargaining committee and as such has scheduled proposal meetings on March 1 for the plant and office workers. This will give the members a chance to bring forward their ideas on what changes and improvements they wish to have negotiated into their new contract.
