CDC Members Ratify a New Agreement

June 21, 2018

On June 19, 2018, UFCW Local 832 union members working at the Carberry Distribution Centre unanimously voted “yes” to accept a new four-year collective agreement.

During the life of the contract, the employees’ wages will increase by eight per cent. The new agreement also includes an increase to the freezer premium as well as to the amount of banked time.

“It’s a good agreement,” stated lead union negotiator Martin Trudel. “We were able to negotiate some necessary cleanup language and more importantly we gave no concessions.”

CDC is a freezer warehouse located in Carberry, Manitoba. UFCW Local 832 represents approximately 15 employees at the plant who work in shipping/receiving. CDC works closely with McCain Foods, which is also a Local 832 unionized workplace.
