Members at Lorette Marketplace Unanimous on New Deal

May 8, 2018

UFCW Local 832 members working at the Lorette Marketplace were sold on their new four-year deal. On May 6, the employees voted 100 per cent in favour of their new collective agreement.

During the life of the contract, employees will see their wages rise by 6.75 per cent, with the first increase retroactive to May 21, 2017. Other monetary improvements are increases to the safety boot allowance, Sunday premium and a new evening shopping premium.

Union negotiator Sonia Taylor stated, “The members were pleased with the improved benefits, enhanced contract language and no concessions, which is shown in the unanimous acceptance vote.”
