McCain Members Vote Yes On New Agreement

An overwhelming number of members came out and ratified their new four-year collective agreement by 74%, which contains yearly wage increases of 1.75%, 2.25%, 2.25% and 1.75%. The first increase is retroactive to October 1, 2017. An additional wage adjustment for 14 different classifications of 3.5 percent also forms part of the new agreement.

The union wants to thank the memberships high participation in the strike mandate meetings and the overwhelming support leading up to the strike deadline which helped push the employer off of their many concessions. 

McCain Foods in Carberry, Manitoba, is one of the French fry production plants for McCain Canada. UFCW Local 832 represents over 200 members in production, sanitation, quality control and maintenance areas among others.
