Coke Winnipeg Members Serve Up a Strike Mandate

March 13, 2018

The union members working at the Coke Winnipeg plant voted 91 per cent in favour of a strike mandate and turned down the company’s latest offer.

Union negotiator Martin Trudel said, “This weighty mandate will be a great help when we resume negotiations with the company for the final bargaining session. It gives the company a clear message that the group is united.”

The union has scheduled meetings for May 4 and 6 so that members get the opportunity to either accept or reject the company’s last offer or declare to go on strike. Members can watch for further updates on the union’s website.
