Strike Mandate update for Safeway

March 2, 2018

So far...

Secretary-Treasurer, Bea Bruske has hosted Strike Mandate Meetings in Brandon, Dauphin, and Thompson. There's been a strong turnout and members have been asking many good questions about how we got to this point and where we go from here.

This Sunday we host the last set of meetings in Winnipeg and Neepawa.  Make sure you give yourself lots of time, as there is supposed to be snow this weekend, so bundle up, stay warm and drive safe!

The Neepawa meeting is this Sunday, March 4, 2018

Salvation Army Building at 7 p.m.
342 Mountain Ave, (West entrance, 2nd floor)

Winnipeg meetings are this Sunday, March 4, 2018.

In Winnipeg there are multiple locations and times to choose from, so you can pick what works best for you.

Canad Inn - Windor Park at 10:00 a.m.
1034 Elizabeth Rd.

Canad Inn - Fort Garry at 10:00 a.m.
1824 Pembina Hwy.

Canad Inn - Polo Park at 7:00 p.m.
1405 St. Matthews Ave.

Canad Inn - Garden City at 7:00 p.m.
2100 McPhillips St.

It is critically important that you show up and vote to give your bargaining committee a strike mandate. A strong strike mandate adds your voice to the bargaining committee and shows the company that all workers at Safeway are serious about a fair collective agreement.

What your bargaining committee has to say

President Jeff Traeger is the union negotiator for this contract, but your bargaining committee are the people who work in the stores along with you and are on the frontline of negotiations, here's what they have to say:
