Negotiations Update at Red River Co-op

January 19, 2018

TO: ALL MEMBERS AT RED RIVER CO-OP STORES

The negotiations process between the Management and Union committees is continuing.  As I indicated in my letter of December 20th, 2017, there are a large number of proposals that both sides have tabled.  Since December 20th, we have met for four days in the past two weeks and have been able to resolve a very significant number of non-monetary issues.

At this time, a number of issues including all scheduling issues and all monetary issues pertaining to wages, benefits, premiums etc. remain outstanding.  We have additional negotiation dates scheduled for February, starting on February 7th.

The Co-op management team have indicated to us that the stores are not yet at a level of sales that is satisfactory.  To that end, they have indicated that they will be tabling a monetary proposal that will be reflecting that reality.  We expect to see a more detailed financial proposal and as well, we expect to receive information outlining the management concerns during our next scheduled meeting dates.  While we are limited in what financial information we are able to share with everyone, we will be reviewing all of the details in depth.

We will advise you of how the meetings are progressing after our next set of meeting dates in February, but should you have any questions or concerns that you would like to discuss, please contact me at any time at 204-786-5055 or at bea.bruske@ufcw832.com.
