Securitas Guards Secure New Three-Year Agreement

December 21, 2017

UFCW Local 832 members working at Securitas voted unanimously in favour of a new three-year collective agreement.

During the life of the agreement, the members will receive a six per cent wage increase, two per cent in each year. The contract also contains increases to premiums for vehicle use, strike services, protection services, meal allowance and boot allowance. Guards are now eligible for the boot allowance every 12 months, as opposed to every 18 months.

Other additions include:

- Yearly lump sum payments for guards with more than 10 years of service.
- Client mandated training—employer now pays the cost and time spent at training.
- Increase to sick time
- New complete benefit package at a very low premium rate, which is paid at a 50/50 ratio (employer/employee).

Securitas Canada Ltd. provides contract security officers to a wide variety of businesses across Manitoba.  UFCW Local 832 represents approximately 475 members working as static physical security officers or mobile security officers in the Manitoba.
