Grace Hospital members ratify new agreement

Three groups support four-year deal.

On June 27, members at the Grace Hospital, Diagnostic Services of Manitoba (DSM) and WRHA Pharmacy Program ratified a new four-year collective agreement. The new agreement will expire on March 31, 2014. The group have been working without a collective agreement since March 31, 2010. The three groups will have no increases in salaries for 2010 and 2011 but will see a 2.75 per cent increase on April 1, 2012 and another 2.75 per cent increase on April 1, 2013. Members with 20 years or more effective October 1, 2012 will see an additional wage increase of two  per cent. Other increases for the members include boosting the overtime meal allowance to $7.00 from $5.00 with another  $1 increase on April 1, 2012. Members will see increases to their shift premiums by 30 cents an hour over the life of the agreement. Starting on May 1, 2012, the bonus week of vacation for members with 20 years of service will be expanded to include those with 25, 30 and 35 years of service. All three groups voted over 80 per cent in favour of the new agreement.
