Union Files Unfair Labour Practice Against Instabox
The union has been attempting to schedule a tour of Instabox so that the union negotiator gets a better understanding of the jobs the jobs the members perform. This would enable the union to better represent the interests of its members at the bargaining table. After several attempts and discussions with the employer, this has not happened.
The collective agreement contains wording for the union representative to have access to the workplace. Therefore, the union believes that the employer is not abiding by the agreement and has filed a grievance as well as an unfair labour practice complaint with the Manitoba Labour Board.
Unfortunately, due to the employer’s refusal to abide by the collective agreement, negotiation dates cannot be confirmed until this matter is dealt with. Union negotiator Sonia Taylor will keep the members at Instabox updated throughout this process.
