Stong strike vote at Coke brings company back to the table

May 28, 2013

On Sunday, May 26, UFCW Local 832 members working at the Coca Cola bottling plant in Winnipeg voted 97 per cent in favour of strike action if a deal could not be reached. The members have grown increasingly frustrated with the company delaying negotiations so a strike vote was called. Once the union notified the company of the results the company has agreed to meet on June 10 with a conciliation officer.
