Tentative agreement reached at McCain Foods.

February 20, 2009
On February 19, your bargaining committee reached a tentative agreement with the company.  It addresses many of the concerns raised by you at the proposal meetings.  The process will now unfold to develop documents for your consideration at the ratification meeting.  This takes a bit of time to accomplish. MEETING DATES As usual we will hold six ratification meetings for you to attend to hear what changes we are recommending be accepted into your new collective agreement.  We want you to attend these meetings so that you can hear directly what those changes are, ask any questions you may have about those issues and everyone hear the same answer before they vote.  That way you will have the correct information, not rumours (often inaccurate) about what has been accepted and why.  All meetings will be held at the Carberry Legion as follows: Thursday, March 12, 2009          8:00 am, 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm Friday, March 13, 2009                8:00 am, 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm VOTING IS IMPORTANT Please ensure you attend one of the ratification meetings and mark your ballot.  Have a say about your own working conditions and wages.  If you don’t attend your future is left in the hands of others to decide.  We look forward to seeing you there.
