Winnserv Negotiations Continue

The union and the company have set further bargaining dates for June 20 and 23. Negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement for the union members working at Winnserv have been progressing, and the union is hoping to complete all of the non-monetary proposals and begin to address the monetary ones at June meetings.

Upon completion of the aforementioned dates, the union will provide a further update as to the status of the Winnserv negotiations.

Conciliation Officer Appointed for Agropur Negotiations

The bargaining committees for Agropur Co-operative, along with a government-appointed conciliator officer, will meet on June 21 and 23 to continue talks in an effort of reaching a collective agreement.

Union negotiator Sonia Taylor will update the members at Agropur after the June 23 meeting.

Instabox Negotiations Start May 29

May 17, 2017

The union negotiating committee, lead by Sonia Taylor and assisted by Jason Renaud and Brent Kasprick, will meet with the company on May 29 to begin bargaining. The parties have also scheduled June 6 to continue talks.

UFCW Local 832 represents approximately 25 employees at Instabox Winnipeg. Instabox manufactures custom paper boxes and other packaging items.

Bargaining towards a new collective agreement for the members working at Epic Opportunities is set to continue on May 30, with another meeting date set for June 8.

Negotiations Continuing at FASD Life’s Journey

The bargaining committees met on May 12, and the parties were able to agree on most of the non-monetary proposals. Further negotiation dates have been set for May 25 and 26, at which time the committees will begin to address the monetary issues.

“With the introduction of Bill 28” union negotiator Martin Trudel stated, “Even though we are still not sure if this sector will be affected, it is more important than ever to have the support of the membership in order to apply pressure on the provincial government.”

New 3-year Deal for Aramark Members

UFCW Local 832 members at Aramark Refreshments voted 100 per cent in favour of a new three-year contract.

The deal contains a 2.5 per cent wage increase in each of the agreement, with the first increase retroactive to October 1, 2016. As well, it contains monetary hikes in the footwear allowance, dental contributions, and RRSP employer contributions.

The collective agreement also includes wording for payout for any unused vacation and some language cleanup.

Bargaining at Krown Produce to Begin Soon

The existing collective agreement for the members at Krown Produce expires on May 31, 2017. The union has already begun to prepare for the upcoming negotiations and has scheduled a proposals meeting for June 2. This is the time for the members to bring forward their ideas and suggestions on what they would like to see changed in their new agreement.
UFCW will keeps its members informed as negotiations move along.

Carman Co-op Ratification Vote Scheduled for June 4, 2017

After four days of bargaining, the negotiating committees reached a tentative agreement for the union members at Carman Co-op.  The union bargaining committee is unanimously recommending acceptance of this new deal. Accordingly, the union has scheduled a ratification meeting so the members can vote on the tentative agreement.

Prepping for Hewlett Packard Negotiations

April 26, 2017

The current collective agreement for members working at Hewlett Packard (HP) expired on April 26. Phil Kraychuk, UFCW Local 832 union negotiator, will head up these negotiations.  As such, he has scheduled a proposals meeting to hear the suggestions on what the members would like to see in their new agreement, as well as elect the bargaining committee.
UFCW Local 832 represents approximately 45 employees at HP.

Tentative Deal Reached at Aramark Refreshment

April 12, 2017

The union and the company have reached a tentative deal.  As such, the union has scheduled a ratification vote for the members working at Aramark Refreshment for May 9.

Union negotiator Debra Malquist stated, “The committee is recommending acceptance of this new deal. The agreement provides for reasonable improvements to the existing terms and conditions of employment.”
