New Agreement Obtained at VersaCold Transport

August 31, 2016

The negotiating committees at VersaCold reached a new tentative collective agreement. UFCW Local 832 represents approximately 12 workers at VersaCold Transport. A ratification meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, so the members can vote on the proposed agreement.

The union negotiating committee is recommending acceptance of this new deal.

Agreement reached at Granny’s Hatchery

August 31, 2016

Union negotiator Sonia Taylor is pleased to inform the members at Granny’s Hatchery that a tentative deal has been reached with their employer on a new collective agreement. 

The union has scheduled a ratification vote for Sunday, September 18. At the meeting, a summary of negotiations and the details of the settlement will be reviewed with the members prior to the vote.

More Bargaining for G4S

August 31, 2016

The negotiating committees for G4S Secure Solutions met on August 23 to 25. During these meetings, the parties exchanged proposals and were able to deal with all of the non-monetary items and began discussing some of the monetary proposals.

SSP Negotiations Set to Resume

August 31, 2016

The union and the company are set to get back to the bargaining table on September 27, 28 and 29.

With all of the non-monetary items agreed to, this round of negotiations will start dealing with the usually tougher proposals of the bargaining process—monetary issues.

Celebration Negotiations Come to a Standstill

August 24, 2016

After the last round of talks on August 23, the union and the company came to a standstill. At this point, UFCW has scheduled a bargaining unit meeting for September 11 so that it can discuss all of the outstanding proposals with the members, as well as their next course of action.

Union Preparing for Aramark Refreshment Negotiations

August 23, 2016

The current collective agreement for the members at Aramark Refreshment expires on September 30. The Local has already begun to prepare for upcoming bargaining with the company towards a new contract. Part of the preparation process is to obtain ideas about what improvements the members would like to see negotiated into their new collective agreement.

New Deal at Thompson Homeless Shelter

Union negotiator Sonia Taylor reports that a tentative agreement has been reached with Thompson Homeless Shelter for a new collective agreement. She has also scheduled ratification votes for September 13.  

At the ratification meeting, the members will receive a summary of their negotiations as well as review the details of the new deal prior to the vote.

New Deal Reached at McKenzie Seeds

August 15, 2016

UFCW and McKenzie Seeds reached a tentative deal on a new 3-year collective agreement. This is the first agreement that encompasses both the production and office workers at the plant in Brandon.

The Local has set ratification votes for September 8. At the meeting, the union negotiating committee will provide the details of the settlement prior to the vote.

Headway Made in B & L Homes for Children Negotiations

Negotiations towards the first collective agreement for Local 832 union members working at B & L Homes for Children is making headway. The bargaining committees met during May, June and August and were able to resolve all of the non-monetary proposals.
