Aramark Negotiations Continue in February

January 9, 2017

The union and the company met in December 2016 to begin negotiations towards a new tentative agreement for the members working at Aramark Refreshment Services. The parties have scheduled further meetings for February 16 and 17, 2017.

Following these talks the union will provide a further update.

Joint statement on meeting with Finance Minister Friesen

January 5, 2017

Today Manitoba’s largest public sector unions and the Manitoba Federation of Labour met with the Minister of Finance, at his request. 

The meeting was the first of what we expect to be several face-to-face meetings. We are hopeful that future meetings will include the Premier and all of Manitoba’s public sector unions.

Appreciation night in Thompson

Local 832 hosted the Thompson appreciation night/social in November at the Thompson Burntwood Legion. President Jeff Traeger, Secretary-Treasurer Bea Bruske, Executive Assistant to the President Marie Buchan and northern union rep J.P. Petit joined the rest of the approximate 70 member in attendance for a fun night.

Agreement Reached at Bearskin Lake Air Services

The union and the company have reached a tentative agreement on the renewal of the collective agreement for members working at Bearskin Lake Air Services.  The new agreement provides for reasonable improvements to existing terms and conditions of employment.

Dunn-Rite Negotiations Ice-cold

December 13, 2016

Back in August, the union negotiating committee—headed by Sonia Taylor, Manny Loura, Kaltoum Hamoud, Yongquan Li, and Musa Mansaray—met with the company to begin bargaining. Unfortunately, despite several requests, the union has not received any further meeting dates from the company.

Tentative deal reached for Vantage Foods members

A tentative deal has been reached for the members working at Vantage Foods in Winnipeg.

Agropur Co-operative Negotiations Commence on January 11

The union bargaining committee—led by negotiator Sonia Taylor, Don Fraser, Brad Siemens and Dave Perron—is set to meet with Agropur on January 11, 2017.
