Security Guard Training
Security Guards in Manitoba must be trained and licensed. Proper training ensures people are better equipped to deal with the potentially dangerous situations that arise in security work.
Course Info
The Security Guard Training Program is open to everyone, even if you’re not a member of our union. This is a 40-hour program that takes place over one work week (five days).
Mandatory attendance for all five days (40 hrs) is required in order to write the provincial exam.

Classes
SECURITY GUARD TRAINING – WINNIPEG
Classes are taught by an experienced instructor and in-person attendance is required. The course runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day.

Fees & Registration
FEES
Prices include manual ($15) and certificate ($25).
- $200 for members whose employer contributes to the Education and Training Trust Fund (ETTF)
- $225 for all other UFCW 832 members
- $250 for non-members.
Fees do not include the cost of the Security Guard exam with Manitoba Justice ($30). Your instructor will provide directions for the registration requirements.
