Workshop Descriptions

1. Effective Lobbying

This workshop will show members how to speak so government will listen. We are seeing more attacks against labour by our current government, we’ll learn how to get the public onside to support the labour movement.

2. Mental Wellness

This workshop will explore mental wellness, stigmas in the workplace, how to take better care of your mental health, and find resources for members who might need support.

3. Message to Action

This workshop will explore which stories our union wants to tell and how to share them with people both inside and outside the labour movement. The labour movement has had an impact on people across this province, this workshop will show members how to celebrate our successes and how to  keep us moving forward.

4. Diversity at Work

This workshop is for anyone who wants to better understand diversity and how we can create a more inclusive environment at work.

5. Emergency First Aider 1 with AED and CPR Level C.

This is a practical, hands on workshop where members can earn their St. John Ambulance First Aid certification.

6. Young Workers

This course is geared for our younger members, but everyone is welcome. We’ll talk about why things such as pensions and benefits matter to young members. Members will get a chance to share their views with UFCW leadership first hand. By the end of this workshop, young members will have decided on an issue that they want to promote and a plan of action to get more people involved.

Enrollment is now closed for this event.

It's going to be a great event, we hope to see there!
